About Our Dogs

IRISH EYES ARE SMILING!

The availability of greyhounds in the U.S. has greatly diminished for adoption groups due to racetrack closures.  Our group has committed to transport ex-racers from Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.  Please note – Most of the greyhounds we receive never make it on our website.  After vetting and observation, they are adopted to those who submitted applications and have been approved.  If you are interested in adopting an Irish beauty, we strongly suggest submitting an application now to begin the process and have access for new arrivals.  For questions, contact us at info@gpa-md.com.

Our group adopts in Maryland, Washington DC and Pennsylvania.  We are expanding areas of adoption to other states within reasonable distance.  Applications will be considered in other areas on a case-by-case basis.

Below are just a few of our dogs.  If one does not catch your eye… there are MANY others (not shown) needing homes.   Before placing a Greyhound with you, we need to know as much as possible about your home environment and requirements.  We believe all Greyhounds are wonderful.  Each has a distinct personality, demeanor, etc.  Our goal is to place the right hound in the right home.  Please trust us in making a match for your family.

Jet is a handsome 3 year old male currently in a foster home.  He is a happy, confident  boy who enjoys being out and about greeting everyone he meets.  An ideal home for him would be without cats or small dogs, a fenced yard to do zoomies and daily walks to socialize.
ADOPTED! LAR is a 4 year old male who loves attention and is affectionate in return.  He is a big boy and would do best in a home with older kids and no cats or small dogs.  He would be happiest in a home with a fenced yard.
MASTER is a 4 year old gentle, kindhearted male.  He is a bit skittish with sudden noises and in new surroundings but is gaining confidence in a foster home with another greyhound.  He walks well on lead, likes attention – especially ear scritches, and enjoys sleeping with a pillow.  Master is questionable with cats, but fine with other dogs.  An ideal home for this super sweet boy is with another greyhound and where he will get lots of love and attention.
Cola, a friendly, active 4 year old male, loves being outdoors and going for long walks.  He is a confident boy, currently in a foster home,  but does not like being crated longer than a few hours.  He is hoping for a home without cats or small dogs and where he is not left alone for long periods of time.  Daily walks would be a plus for him.
ADOPTED! VEGAN is a 4 year old Irish lad who settled in quickly with his foster family and another greyhound.  He has an easygoing disposition, is well behaved and has occasional spurts of just being happy.  A home with cats and small dogs is questionable, but there are no negative reactions to wildlife or other dogs when out and about.  He loves playing with toys and walks, and.he is very easy to walk.  Submit an application or contact info@gpa-md.com if you are interested adopting this sweet boy.
Jester is a lovely 3 year old male recently returned due to not being compatible with the family cats.  He has an easygoing disposition, gets along fine with small dogs, and would love a home with a fenced yard.
