About Our Dogs

IRISH EYES ARE SMILING!

The availability of greyhounds in the U.S. has greatly diminished for adoption groups due to racetrack closures.  Our group has committed to transport ex-racers from Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.  Please note – Most of the greyhounds we receive never make it on our website.  After vetting and observation, they are adopted to those who submitted applications and have been approved.  If you are interested in adoption, we strongly urge submitting an application now to begin the process and have access for new arrivals.  For questions, contact us at info@gpa-md.com.

Our group adopts in Maryland, Washington DC and Pennsylvania.  We are expanding areas of adoption to other states within reasonable distance.  Applications will be considered in other areas on a case-by-case basis.

Below are just a few of our dogs.  If one does not catch your eye… there are MANY others (not shown) needing homes.   Before placing a Greyhound with you, we need to know as much as possible about your home environment and requirements.  We believe all Greyhounds are wonderful.  Each has a distinct personality, demeanor, etc.  Our goal is to place the right hound in the right home.  Please trust us in making a match for your family.

TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND

If you are interested in adoption, the first step is to complete an application.  One of our representatives will then contact you and begin working with you through the entire process.  They will be available for any questions or concerns you might have.  For more information, call 1-800-600-8607 or email: info@gpa-md.com.

MASTER is a 4-year-old gentle, kindhearted male.  He is a bit skittish with sudden noises and in new surroundings but is gaining confidence in a foster home with another greyhound.  He walks well on lead, likes attention – especially ear scritches, and enjoys sleeping with a pillow.  Master is questionable with cats, but fine with other dogs.  An ideal home for this super sweet boy is with another greyhound and where he will get lots of love and attention.
ADOPTED! Anna is 3 years old and has settled in nicely with her foster family.  She enjoys playing with stuffies and is getting along fine with another greyhound and the family cat.  Her sweet, friendly demeanor charms everyone who meets her.
Zoe is a sweet 4 year old black female who was reared on a farm in Australia.  She is gentle and was fond of the children she lived with.  In her foster home, she gets along fine with the family cat and another greyhound.  She is bit shy at first, but warms up once she gets to know you.
Evander is a handsome 2 year old blue male from Australia, currently in a foster home with 2 greyhounds, a small dog and a cat.  He has a friendly, easygoing disposition and will make a perfect companion for any family.
Rose is a lovely 3 year old female doing well in a foster home.  This sweet lady is not cat or small dog workable but enjoys being with other greyhounds and pleasing everyone she meets.  She is confident and friendly and would also be fine as an only dog.  An ideal home would be with someone who is not gone for long periods of time.
Nana is a 5 year old black Aussie female doing well in a foster home with a Corgi.  She is not workable with cats but fine with other dogs.  She is friendly, confident and enjoys meeting people with a wagging tail and a heart full of love.
